The Foundation hopes in the future to assist CVD patients with funds for intervention practices, whether medical or surgical.

EDUCATIONAL/ECONOMIC IMPACTS OF THE CENTRE.

The major educational impact is that graduates of this university, now leave the University with vision and self-confidence about how to fit into the society and become self-reliant. Most students-products, today, own businesses set up by them while still in school and make good money because of the entrepreneurial skills they have acquired.   The centre has collaborated with the Enterprise Development Centre of the Pan-African University in the Enterprise Partnership for Africa Initiative. The Centre is a top contender for the South-East coordinator of the Enterprise Development Centre and the You Win Programmes projects of the Federal Government.

COCES has also mentored other Entrepreneurial Centres in three (3) Nigerian Universities, namely; St. Paul University, Awka, Federal University of Technology, Owerri, and Benue State University. It has become a reference centre (recognized by the Nigerian Universities Commission) where other Universities visit to generate ideas that will assist them in setting up and running their individual Centres effectively.

The GEL programme is a holistic intervention programme meant to address the challenges of the small and growing businesses (SGBs) segment of the Nation’s economy. This programme aims to build capacity and support 1,000 small growing businesses in the six geopolitical zones of the country. In the South East Zone, the last GEL training for 60 SGBs was conducted in COCES, from 10th-14 October, 24-28th and 7th -11t Nov 2011.
